Casa Pance Gastrobar is more than a restaurant—it's the realization of a lifelong dream inspired by family, culture, and the unforgettable flavors of Cali, Colombia.
Owner Belquiz Ramirez, a proud native of Cali, began her entrepreneurial journey more than 14 years ago. Although she had no previous experience in the restaurant industry, she possessed something even more valuable: determination, resilience, and a passion for bringing people together through great food.
Her first venture was as co-owner of a neighborhood pizzeria. While that chapter was short-lived, it provided invaluable lessons and sparked a passion that would shape her future.
In 2015, Belquiz embraced a new opportunity and opened Sandunga Bar & Grill in Chicago. Built as a family-owned business, Sandunga Bar & Grill quickly became a gathering place where guests could enjoy authentic Colombian flavors, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Over the years, Sandunga has proudly served the Chicago community and continues to do so today.
As the business grew, so did Belquiz's vision. She dreamed of opening a new restaurant that paid tribute to the city where she was born and the traditions that shaped her. That dream became Casa Pance Gastrobar.
Named after the most popular river in Cali, Casa Pance was created to bring the warmth, vibrant spirit, and rich culinary heritage of Colombia to every guest who walks through its doors. Every recipe reflects tradition, every dish is prepared with care, and every visit is meant to feel like coming home.
Today, Casa Pance Gastrobar stands as a testament to Belquiz's journey—from taking a leap of faith without restaurant experience to becoming the owner of two family restaurants. Her story is one of courage, hard work, and an unwavering belief that with dedication, any dream is possible.
